JCPenney.com is the website of the megastore JCPenney which as of late has been more just “store” and less “mega”.  This home site itself follows suit with its less than impressive offerings and services.

Part of the reason that JCPenney is always a few (big) steps behind their competitors in the stores index is their sheer lack of innovation.  They have the same B-level products, the same B-level service and the website is also a predictably B-level site.

They don’t offer free shipping, shipping on jewelry is more expensive than regular items, shipping to the store can take up to a week and the more you spend at the online store, the more you spend on shipping.  Isn’t it supposed to be the opposite?

At JCPenney.com you’ll find the same deals that they offer in the store – no special online-only offers or deals to be found here.

Their store locator was on decent factor as they offered a list of stores close to our location plus driving directions.  However, we weren’t really that impressed by the site and not particularly interested in visiting an offline furniture store.

They offer all major credit cards as well as the option to open a JCPenney credit card. We felt they were a bit too pushy with their own card for our tastes though.

While they offer toll free phone support we waited over 10 minutes on hold until someone was able to answer our (seemingly simple) question.
